Dr. Laura Lewis was born and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated from UCLA with a BA in History and a special interest in the history of medicine, which is a topic she studied while abroad in England. She earned a MS in Global Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. While applying to medical school, she worked at a private elementary and middle school, rotating through different grades throughout the year to learn more about normal childhood development. She returned to USC the next year to complete her medical degree. She completed her internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) where she had a capstone project in medical education, as part of their education track.

She stayed at CHLA as an attending physician and then as a faculty member, where she had a special interest in education at the high school through residency levels. She gained experience seeing medically complex and healthy children. She learned that she loved working with patients and their families to break down what was happening medically in a way that made sense. Laura lives in Santa Monica. She loves to read, travel, and be active. Some of her favorite activities are beach volleyball, running, and intramural adult kickball. She is very excited to have brought her medical expertise to Westside Pediatrics where she is building her patient panel.
